Ryan is shaking his booty right now to distract me from writing this.
I think he’s better at writing these- consistent, funny, heartfelt- but it’s important for me to share some times, too.
This process, healing from a surgery that impacts everything from my pelvic bone to my collarbone, is hard. My incisions itch. There’s an electrical storm crawling over the area in the middle of my chest that saw the most ‘action’ during surgery- especially when my shirt brushes against it.
And, today my plastic surgeon’s whole face lit up when he looked at the new pink skin growing on my new breasts. Even acknowledging the necrosis on my breast skin, he beamed, saying that, yes, it’s a roadbump, but of all the possible breakdowns this is a good one.
Ryan is now calling one of the best breast reconstruction surgeons in the country “McDreamy” tonight, for the way he put us both at ease. (And his pretty blue eyes)
Oh- also I can resume driving in small doses! And we’ll probably know by the end of the week if I am generally healthy enough for the hyperbaric chamber.
And July (or really the first 2 weeks of July) was one of the most productive months in my career at Edward Jones. Also, I’ve been selected for a prestigious peer coaching program.
<blink, blink>
Call me. Volunteer to come visit me. Let’s go on a short cultural outing.
Thanks!
