Today is day 6 of Christian being admitted to the hospital, and as of right now, we still donβt have a planned discharge date. π
We are also still waiting on the full biopsy results. It has been incredibly frustrating and emotionally exhausting to wait, especially because yesterday marked one full month since Christian had his biopsy. We are praying that we finally receive some answers soon and that those answers will help guide the doctors in knowing what comes next. ππ»
Today is also day 3 of radiation. Weβve finally found the right dose of Ativan to help Christian get through his treatments. The radiation mask is extremely tight on his face, and understandably, it causes him to panic. Thankfully, the team has found a dose that helps him stay calm enough to get through the treatment. Weβre taking this one day, one treatment, and one moment at a time. β€οΈ
This morning, Christian is having a swallow study. He has been coughing and clearing his throat when drinking liquids, so his doctors want to make sure he isnβt aspirating when he eats or drinks. Weβre praying the test gives us some answers and, most importantly, that Christian can continue to eat and drink safely.
He was also evaluated by therapy this morning. Once he is cleared by oncology and neurology, the plan is for him to move to inpatient rehabilitation here at the hospital for approximately 1β3 weeks. So, it looks like we still have quite a bit more time here at the hospital as we continue taking things one day at a time.

This is such an incredibly difficult journey, but we are continuing to trust in the Lord and lean on Him through every single moment. Even when we donβt understand what He is doing, we know He is with us.
