Post-Op Day 4 Update

Lisa had a much better day today.  She had some "movement" today (if you read the Day 3 Update, you'll know what I'm talking about)!  And, while that is great news, she still has a ways to go before she can be discharged.  Here are some of the things that continue to need progress:
  • Her pain today was better managed, but she is still needing some narcotics to get by.  She often reports her pain levels as being a 4 or 5 now, but the reality is those numbers are probably closer to 7 or 8 as she is a woman who is always "pushing through" both in her own personal normal and the normal of caring for an adult daughter with disabilities.  Her perseverance and commitment never cease to amaze me!
  • While there was some progress with her digestive function for the first time in 4 days, she still is not anywhere near back to normal (her abdomen is still very distended) and she needs to be able to eat a more normal diet.
  • Between the meds and the healing, she is still quite tired.

We're very thankful to God for the progress and for your prayers!  Keep lifting them up!

Larry

Dear Larry and Lisa…I am so sorry to hear of your surgery and your health concern and for you Larry having had a heart attach. I have been covering you and your family in prayer every day. I am not able to do a lot these days but I am praying. (I turned 90 in March) I prayed for your surgery and all the follow up that you will need. I am also praying for Carley’s care and for all your needs. I am going to see what I can do in a small way to be of help. I will be in touch and know I am thinking so much about you. Remembering your kindness to me in offering me to come to InterBank to work after North Heights LMTC closed. Forever grateful to you. I have read about ways to be of help. With care Alta Strassburg
