We got home from our awesome 4th of July trip to New York to visit Camilla’s great grandparents aaaaaaand naturally we couldn’t let the fun be done the second we got home sooooo we had ice cream for dinner yesterday.
“I’m not like a regular mom. I’m a cool mom😉”
Since being in her stander and baking more, she’s grown a heathier relationship and genuine interest in food! (If you haven’t been checking out our story in Instagram, you should @leahcrum_ Camilla’s made banana bread, peach cobbler, and next up we’re making blueberry pancakes!) Camilla’s never eaten by mouth. In fact, we did feeding therapy at the hospital, weekly, for a YEAR. By the end of the year we couldn’t even get a swallow study.
The past couple weeks, we’ve been following her lead in tasting things like peaches, brown sugar, bananas, chocolate chips. Ya know… good foods that would make anyone more willing to eat. What can I say💁🏼♀️ I’m a genius.
Anyways. Back to the story.
We couldn’t let the fun just be DONE after an awesome weekend in New York sooo we had ice cream for dinner last night. Spoiler: it was awesome😎
Camilla ate more icecream than her sister! (Not because Camilla are a ton of icecream but because her sister is officially to the stage where she’s too cool for brown ice cream and wants everything to be “pinkalicious”. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree🤷🏽♀️)
Camilla had a ton of tastes and did a FANTASTIC job sticking her tongue out to lick the icecream! She was definitely beyond excited and had a suuuuppper hard time not grabbing the whole thing. Girly definitely got creative and started wrapping her leg/foot around my arm and the cone to grab it that way instead hahahaha I think it’s so funny when Camilla figures out ways to be a “listener” buuuuut actually just finds a loophole. She’s a smart cookie. That’s for sure.
Needless to say, we all went home happy. Mom and dad had full bellies, sister was beyond thrilled to bring home a sampling plastic baby spoon, and Camilla was covered from her chin to eyes & wrist to shoulder in chocolate icecream.
