We’re back at DMI therapy!!!

Okay I’m gonna be super honest…

I’m excited for Camilla to be back receiving the treatment she needs to grow and develop and gain that independence she’s craving.

But DANG.

This first session was HARD😭😭😭

It was an hour of screaming, betrayed looks, and a lot of fear.

My gosh, it broke my heart. Part of it is the pregnancy hormones, and part of it is my big mama heart, but geeeez there were a couple moments where I was worried we were both going to be bawling😫😢😭

Camilla doesn’t know the therapist she has for this intensive, and she does NOT trust a stranger to push her outside of her comfort zone.

Fair right?

Thankfully, our new therapist is phenomenal AND loving so she shifted to doing familiar workouts and focusing on ✨building trust✨

You need to take a look at the notes on slide 2! How cute🥹😭 Our new therapist and old therapist had a little chat about building trust with Camilla. I’m SO grateful we have a team that loves her, believes in her, and is really methodical in their approach to empower her to become her strongest self💪🏼💖

It’s going to be a great week right?
😬🙏🏼

Definitely toss up a prayer for Camilla as she takes this DMI therapy intensive head on, and donate what you can to help us continue treatment that moves the needle💝

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who donated and helped us get into this session. We couldn’t do this without your loving generosity🧬

Aww that is scary but Camilla is so determined I’m sure she’ll adapt quickly. But she will need some s’mores maybe after….

This is actually very encouraging to hear. My daughter will be doing an intensive at AKAP in about a month and I am sooo nervous she is going to hate it and just cry the whole time (like she does for almost all other therapy). So in a way I’m just glad she won’t be the only one. But also it’s good to know the therapists are used to working with kiddos with more challenges. I often feel like with her other therapists that they don’t really know what to do with her!
