Byles Family
Lots has happened since the last update. Zech has started physical therapy with an awesome team that is so knowledgeable. He was given a more outdoor friendly walker that we call his 4 wheel drive. There is a seat on it so he is able to take breaks when needed and it has made it easier for him to get to the chicken coop but takes a bit to get there and back. He is starting to sleep better through the night, but not great. He is still dealing with bad night terrors at night but a wonderful friend of mine, Heidi, is helping him with that through some homeopathic methods she personally has experience with.Β
Zech had his wound vac taken off on Thursday! The surgeon said he's very happy with how it looks and they took a bunch of stitches out, he was not a fan of that π’ He still has a dressing on because there is still healing that needs to take place but hopefully it wont take another month to heal it fully. There was a learning curve (one of many to come no doubt) with his new wound care, but its going well. Unfortunately his ampu-shield is too big for him so it keeps slipping off. We have to figure something out to keep it on.
He hops around the house singing a song/motto he made up, "Pickles can walk, pickles can walk!" We have no idea where he got this from,Β but it's been nice to hear him laugh so much. Grandma Byles came back to help us with life, which has been such a blessing. We had VBS at our dear friends church, which Zech and the other kids enjoyed immensely.Β
Mr. Curtis! Talk about a BLESSING! This man single handedly built our family a beautiful wheelchair ramp that is beyond our dreams! He was so meticulous and took no shortcuts. The kids loved watching his master skills and hard work and threw in their help when they could, especially Zeke! I could not reccomend Curtis more for any project, he's such an amazing man.
Huge praise! All cultures came back negative for infection! So he has never had to deal with an infection. God is so good!Β
Prayer requests: Zech's continued healing, Travis as he deals with keeping up with the land, Travis and I's love for our beautiful new farm to not burn out because of this as everything starts settling in realizing the difficulties that are very real and not leaving, Izzy as she goes to the camp on Monday,Β and wisdom for our next steps.
Thank you all again!Β
P.S.
I'll be posting pictures in the morning β€οΈ
