3 down, 13 to go!
Last chemo my white blood cells were already low, not too low for treatment, but below average. If I get too low, I’ll have to either get shots to boost them, take medication, skip a week of chemo or do half a dose. Hopefully they go back up!
I have been feeling pretty well, till about today. The fatigue has hit hard the last couple of days and the nausea has been slowing getting worse and worse. Thank goodness for Zofran, it’s been a life saver and usually gets me up and going for the day pretty quick.
But the fatigue, woof, has been a little more difficult. Cause it doesn’t matter how much I sleep I get, I’m still tired. I literally go to bed when the kids do and could sleep all day the next day. I’m hoping this is the worse it’ll be, but I’m not naive that I’m only on week 3 of 16 and probably will get worse. I am learning to listen to my body more and if Colson and I need to watch movies all day- it’s okay!
My hair is slowing starting to come out- not really chunks but just shedding and breakage. I ordered a wig off amazon, and it was a definite no go 😂. I’m not ready for this part, but know it’s coming sooner rather than later.
On more positive notes, Chad and I did my big festival in Cedarburg last weekend and it was nice hanging out. We had help from Holly (my best friends mom, she’s like a mom to me too) and her cousin Linda, so Chad and I could walk around together for once! My mom had the kids at our house and had to run around for 2 soccer games and Sunday school on Sunday. Bet she slept good Sunday night!
The kids are full blown in fall sport mode- soccer, tae kwon do, fast pitch, flag football. It’s pretty busy in the Kell household!
I meet with the plastic surgeon on Monday and chemo number 4 is next Tuesday!
Picture of Chad and I at wine and harvest fest!
