The journey has officially began! First chemotherapy treatment was today and it went smoothly.
I did labs first and they were all great. Then I met with Dr Mooney to talk about things, then it was off to the infusion room.
Each patient has their own room, and a nice recliner for me! There is a tv (which didn’t work today!) and a curtain for privacy.
My nurse Hannah was so nice. She explained everything so well, and just was awesome. We started with Benadryl and steroids to make sure I didn’t have an allergic reaction to the meds.
I started with the immunotherapy drug, which will only be every 3 weeks. That was roughly 45 mins.
Then the next drug was 1 hour and 10
Mins and then following was 1 hour With ensuring I get everything in the bags, it’s about 4 hours. Adding labs and meeting with the doctor, I was there from 830-130 today. 💤😴
But all and all, I am feeling good! Everything went smoothly. Fingers crossed this week I continue to feel this way.
The doctor did say the more infusions I get, the harder it is on the body.
I can’t thank everyone enough for spending the Amazon packages, organizing the things I need done in life, dropping off food, watching the kids, and the donations. It’s been such a blessing for our family and definitely helps with stresses that we don’t want to worry about right now. ❤️
