Hello friends & family of the Birds,
My name is Karlie Ady, and although we are just 5 years apart, I am Kendra‘s Aunt! To Brielle, however, I was affectionately Tata (Auntie) Karlie. I adore being an Auntie to the Bird family and love them with my whole heart.
Brielle’s passing has affected so many of us so deeply, in part because of the window Kendra gave us into her remarkable life. Many have asked what they can do, so I wanted to share an honest update.
Kendra and Mitch are overwhelmed with gratitude every time they speak about the support that they have experienced from their community both online and also in Idaho where they live. Because of that support, they have a beautiful “Healing Home” and have been able to buffer the costs of treatments, especially those outside the scope of insurance.
The funds raised from this account went to those express purposes and over a very long period of time.
Knowing full well that Kendra and Mitch would NEVER ask for any help after the beauty and goodness they have received, I approached Kendra carefully to find out if some financial support might still be warranted at this time.
Although she is exhausted and numb, (going through the cycle of feeling there are no more tears to cry and then somehow finding there more), she got teary-eyed thinking of the generous people who have already supported them.
I reminded her, that if people want to express their love through financial means, they can. And if they feel they cannot, they will find another way. No one is ever obligated.
After that discussion, I determined that a bit of financial support for the funeral would be extremely helpful.
For that reason this account will soon be closing, and I have started a new one where those who would like to can help us raise some funds SPECIFICALLY for funeral costs.
