Benny has been holding his head better and tracking more from side to side—big wins we’ve been praying for. He’s also starting to relax and open his hands more, which is so encouraging to see. These small changes might not seem like much, but to us, they’re everything.

We recently introduced switch toys to help him start exploring cause and effect, and it’s been so fun watching him try to figure it out.

Yesterday, we drove to Oklahoma City for a one-day DMI intensive today and got to meet some amazing instructors. It is amazing to get more eyes on Benny and new ideas for his care.

We’re definitely living life on the road—my car had just a few miles on it when Benny was born, and now it’s over 40,000. But we wouldn’t trade this journey for anything, the privilege to help Benny live out his testimony. As a parent I feel obligated to try and do everything but I also have to remind myself we don’t have to do everything right now 🤪 if you know me you know I’m an overdoer at times.

Benny has been having trouble tolerating his feeds and vomiting often, we switched formulas and it is still happening we will be doing a EGD soon to help give us answers, hopefully in conjunction with his bottom surgery May 16 so he only had to go under once.

Right now, our weekly routine includes multiple chiropractor visits, two therapy sessions a week in Parsons, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy twice a week in Wichita. It’s a lot—but he’s worth every mile, every early morning, every effort. Charley & Clara have started to understand when I am gone, or Travis & I are gone and this helps. I don’t want to spend days away from our girls and my husband but I also want Benny to continue to improve.. it’s a rocky slope and we’re figuring it all out. All this to say this wouldn’t be possible without our friends and family and our godsend nurses helping us with daily things!

Next week we have our preliminary hearing, it’s a two day hearing and I’m just praying for the lord to lead us through this process with grace and protect our heart at all cost.
