So glad to be tolerating first chemo okay this first round!

Although we know it's a long road and the treatment can be cumulative or increasingly wear on the body...so far so good.  Following the first dose of chemo, Steph felt nauseous on the doctor-predicted timeline (days 4-10 after chemo).  However, it was manageable with strategies such as medication, mints, an electronic pulse bracelet, and earlier bedtimes some nights, and overall was less than twin pregnancy nausea (or actually, better medically managed using things like Zofran).  We were able to enjoy our long-ago planned Tennessee trip including cousin time, seeing the Smokey Mountain National Park, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, rope bridges, and more.  

The next chemo day will be August 5th, but Steph and crew will have lots of family support and care again during the subsequent week. Looking ahead for 8/26, we put in an early request for local meal help days 4-10 after that dose, which will be a welcome support when Jim is back to regular teaching hours and our extended family is also busy.
