Key Medical Updates:

PICC Line Removal: The team is removing his PICC line today, as they no longer feel itβs necessary. This is great news, as taking it out helps minimize the risk of infection.

Trach Mask Progress: He was placed on the trach mask around 10:30 AM today, with a goal of keeping him on it for 8 full hours (as long as he continues to tolerate it well and stay stable).
- The Final Drain Tube: The TLC team is meeting with the neurosurgeon to discuss the game plan for his last remaining head drain. Theyβll be evaluating if they are comfortable with the current drainage amounts and setting the final target goal for removal.
Note: Removing this last drain is the single remaining milestone Austin needs to clear before he can officially transfer to the LTAC facility!
Movement & Care:
- We continue to see encouraging signsβhis eyes are fluttering, and he is maintaining movement in his left hand and foot!
- On a sweet personal note: I gave his feet a good buff and massaged them with lotion today to keep him pampered and relaxed! π¦Άπ§΄β¨
