Yesterday was a big day- I completed 35 radiation treatments and was able to ring the bell! Yay!! (photo attached- it would not let me attach video) It was so special and felt so good to be able to ring the bell and celebrate the end of some tough treatments. I have also finished 15 chemo treatments so am officially in the rest and recover phase of this journey. I have been told it may take 6 plus weeks to start to feel more normal with improved energy levels so am looking forward to that. I still will have scans in 3 months at which time we will see how effective all of this treatment has been- I am super hopeful the tumor is gone!!Β
Sadly I am still struggling with pain from shingles. The lesions are healing so I am hoping and praying the pain is still part of the acute infection and not the dreaded post herpetic neuralgia which can last awhile. I am on a regimen of pain medications right now and start acupuncture this week to try and lessen the pain. It's ironic that what has been the biggest hurdle during this is not the cancer at all but these darn shingles! Praying for relief soon.
I can't thank you all enough for the support and prayers given thus far in this journey. I know I could not have made it this far without you all. I felt every prayer during the highs and lows and thank God for each of you. I will keep you posted in the coming weeks. Sending everyone much love.

Hi Ashley, I was expecting to see a post from you today but it was unnecessary. I heard that bell all the way up in Winston Salem yesterday and how sweet it sounded! I have my whole Sunday School class praying that you get relief from shingles pain (and, of course, tumor resolution) so hopefully you soon will be able to rest and recover in more comfort. Blessings to you and your family at Palm Sunday and Easter.
