The past week has been... harrowing, to say the least. There were a few moments where we were very worried, but yesterday Annie was able to come off the ventilator and has been breathing well with oxygen support via either those little nose tubes you see at oxygen bars at the ocean front, or a mask. Last night she initiated a group hug and finished singing songs I started with a very raspy voice. Watch out Stevie Nicks. 

We still don't know what the cause is after 70+ tests, but the fact that she's awake and herself is a HUGE win for us. She's still running a fever and recuperating so not ready for full visitation quite yet, but we hope over the next few days she'll be ready for y'all. And I'm pretty sure she is hungry for the distraction. 

We told her about the way her community, and the communities that surround the people she loves, have stepped up and she started crying. So overwhelmed by your generosity and kindness. We are too, so very happy to share some good news with you all.
