A Hard Day Yesterday

Hi Friends,
It's hard to know when to update and how much information to give. We want everyone to stay informed, but Annie's case is so minute-by-minute, a day can start bad and end good and vice versa. Yesterday it started not great and ended not great.
Annie is currently undergoing a PET scan that will hopefully confirm the diagnosis we've been circling. She wasn't able to communicate very much yesterday, and the doctors think that is due to toxins building up in her system that should be removed with a round of CRT (essentially short-term dialysis). They will administer this after her PET.
She started a small round of chemo therapy last night. She has not been diagnosed with cancer nor is she suspected to have cancer, but her auto-immune processes are doing something similar. The big goals right now are to stabilize her and get answers. She is still breathing on her own though, and that is a silver lining. I hope my next update is lighter.
Forgive me for not answering texts or calls. I'm still working my normal job, caring for the family, and visiting the hospital daily, so there isn't a ton of brain space left for individual updates. I know both my mom and I see your sweet texts and appreciate them more than you know <3
