After a very long morning and many meetings, we finally have some direction on treatment!
Thanks to both of my tumors being ER/PR positive and HER2 negative, we can essentially plan on only doing surgery no current need for chemo or radiation. I'll also be on Tamoxifen for at least five years. HOWEVER - if the cancer has spread to any of my lymph nodes I'll have to do a lumpectomy and radiation before my big surgery. And if my oncotype comes back high they'll want to do chemo. But if no lymph nodes have cancer then the plan is a double mastectomy with reconstruction using my own tissue in May. Lymph node testing is done a week or two before the big surgery. We won't know the oncotype until after the mastectomy. So yes, long long day but my team is quite nice and I feel better having a plan.
Next step is a meeting with plastic surgery on Monday.
