Mom is really getting back to herself a lot more.  Her white blood count is almost back to normal so infectious disease is hoping she'll be done with antibiotics at end of weekend.   She just did a lap in hall with PT and did great.  Waiting for more doctors to come around this morning but as of now the plan is to get her drains removed and her set up with wound vac care by early next week.  

With all that she would then be ready for IRU (Inpatient Rehab Unit).   We are hoping they have space for her and she can go there for a week but she is honestly doing so well that there is a tiny chance she wouldn't qualify in which case she would go home and have rehab and home health there.  While she would love to be home and we are sick of the hospital - the IRU is an amazing chance if she qualifies for intense therapy to get her back to herself even faster.  We shall see. 

I just started putting slots under "Needs" so people can sign up to visit.  Mom loves having visitors.   Amy and I must work so this is the biggest help right now.   It's sometimes boring if she dozing - so just bring some knitting, a book, etc.   The time slots are just approximate, as she can be alone, so don't worry if you can't stay the full time.   We do ask that if you sign up, please include a phone number in case we need to reach you to cancel if they are moving her, etc.
