Aiden was downgraded to the floor early this morning. Praise God! Yesterday was a whirlwind of emotions and situations as doctors continue to try to identify the source of his low hemoglobin level. They did another CT scan yesterday afternoon and preliminary results were reported as another bleed this time in his colon. Another surgery was required; however, after the final read from the EGS team and radiologist, it was determined there was no bleed. Doctors recently spoke to us and there has been another drop with his hemoglobin but they have cleared him to return to the rehab facility. Only concern being, is that if another bleed was to occur as soon as he left, he would need to return immediately; however, they are confident as his output is not showing any signs of a bleed. His sleep schedule continues to be difficult as it was determined he has sleep apnea. They will work with us on that at the rehab facility. Moving forward, Aiden will wear a binder around his abdomen area so we can try to prevent any issues from happening in the future. Aiden has also been off oxygen now for over 24 hours - which is another blessing. His color is a lot better today as well. I believe he is eager to return to rehab so he can have those ice chips, Sprite and ice cream!
