ER on Tuesday… sigh

We are weary.
We had another ER visit. Zeke’s quest lab showed his bicarb was a 15 and we, as well as his PCP, are so perplexed. We went to the ER for fluids and another bicarb test. The good news is that it was a 17 when we got there and a 19 by the time we left - after 2 bags of fluid.
ER doc was kind. There was a suggestion we see a nephrologist. We told her that we have been down that road and our case has been closed bc his labs are normal.
After prayer and talking, Jon and I believe it is time to go the functional medicine route. Traditional medicine and specialists can’t find anything wrong, yet clearly, something is happening in Zeke’s body.
Unfortunately, functional medicine and their labs are not covered by insurance and will cost us approximately between $2000-3000 by the time we do everything. Maybe even more.
I hate that the cost gives us pause, but it’s a lot of money. And what if they don’t find anything? That question is even more upsetting bc if they don’t find anything I don’t even know who to talk to next.
I’m so weary of advocating and fighting to be heard. I know this is my call as this little man’s mama but truly, I just want to curl up in a ball and just cry for a lot of hours. This is so heavy.
Will you please pray:
- for God to provide finances to pay for this new doctor? Fully paid for so we don’t have to worry about the cost at all?
- for us to find answers so we can help this little guy?
- for full healing in every way for Zeke.
- for me to have strength and wisdom that can only come from the Lord.
- that Jon continues to be encouraged and is able to fully complete all of his work tasks timely and in a way he feels good about.
- for Zane’s heart - this is hard on him too. So hard.
