Another both/and day friends.
Dr. A came today and was THRILLED with Zeke’s progress. He was really in awe of the leaps Zeke had made this intensive. He also shared with me - and Tally was in agreement - that Zeke’s hamstrings are tight now just bc they are shortened. Not bc of a neuro issue. This is really exciting bc now we can take the next steps to lengthen his hamstring utilizing different tools that I was opposed to prior today bc of the neuro connection.
Zeke was fitted for some orthotics today that would lengthen his hamstrings gradually.
The really hard news was that we are racing against time right now. Bc we know that this is not being caused by a neuro loop we have a short amount of time to fix this before his next growth spurt. If we don’t correct this before he grows, the tightening hamstring will hold everything in place and his bones will grow curved. This has life long implications.
The recommendation was to do the orthotics and also do Ability once a quarter if we could swing it.
Y’all. That’s $8,500 a sesh (not including lodging) times 4. That’s a total of $34,000. Not including lodging or food.
But how do you look your child in the eyes in 10 years and say you didn’t have the money to pay for the therapy that could have stopped his bones from growing crooked?
I praises the Lord that I’m studying Daniel right now in BSF. He is using this study to transform my heart. Bc I want to panic. Run. Try to make things happen in my own accord.
But Daniel gave me a different example. When he was faced with death bc of the wise men not being able to interpret a dream, Daniel prayed. How can I do any differently? Daniel was not in control of his next hour any more than I am. God alone knows what is coming. I must consult Him first to get the right direction.
So I’m praying - will you pray with me?
(1) For God to miraculously lengthen his legs fully - 100% by Friday.
(2) If that’s not God’s plan for us, that we will know the best next steps.
(3) If we are to do 4 intensives this year, that God will miraculously provide the finances. Whether through fundraising, grants, insurance, donors, whatever avenue He chooses.

Oh, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t share this milestone. Today, Zeke walked outside for the FIRST TIME EVER in his walker. His little feet were on the concrete. He was able to walk up to a flower and actually reach it. It was beautiful. A both/and day.
