Zeke's Journey
We need prayer.
Zane got a virus. Remember that gluten reaction? Turns out it was a reaction AND a virus. Oh the joys.
Then I got the virus. I have been very ill since Sunday.
Then, Zeke got it.
We have gone to the ER 2x this week. A praise is that his bicarb was good (as well as all his other levels) so we got fluids and went home.
But here’s the thing friends. Having a sick Zeke is not like having a sick Zane. He can’t lay down without having a puke type of incident when he is like this. So we have to sleep sitting up with him. Or we have to get up every couple of hours to vent him. (Dark picture is evidence of this.) Zeke can’t just lay there and read. It’s a 24*7 thing. He coughs. He pukes. I have to wonder if this is the one that makes the bicarb drop. Rinse and repeat.
Did I mention I’m still sick?
Please pray for us to be miraculously better - like now.
I’m really discouraged. I have not slept at all tonight and we won’t be home until 5:30 am since it’s an hour from the hospital and I’m writing this at 4:30 am. I just see no light at the end of the tunnel right now. I feel very alone, very isolated, and drowning under the weight of what I’m being asked to carry.
Please pray for Jon to have a strong immune system and stay healthy. He has been a machine holding it all together. Big work week for him, taking care of me, the kids and still trying to stay healthy.
And please praise God that this is the 4th ER visit we have had where Zeke’s bicarb has been a stable number.
And shout out to Kym for coming to stay with Zane so we didn’t have to drag him to the hospital again in the middle of the night. May the Lord reward her kindness richly.
