It’s been a few weeks since our last update 😅
Willow turns 18 months this week. She winks, roars like a dinosaur, says “Mama,” “Dada,” and “Ollie.” She has discovered she can crawl to the kitchen cabinets, and enjoys unloading and reloading them. She has a new laugh, that is more like a shriek, and I can’t get enough.
On the medical side of things, Willow is doing great! Thank you for your prayers for her pressure sore. It healed up so quickly (like, too quickly?? 🧐 🙏🏻). We are currently shifting some therapies around, and are excited to be back with our favorite physical therapist at Cooks.
One very exciting thing—Willow got to try out big kid wheels at PT! The second we put her in the big wheelchair, she took off and started wheeling herself around. Someone in the room cried. Ok—me. It was me. I’m just so dang proud of this girl and the ways she continues to barrel through life’s barriers. We’ve put in the order for her medical grade wheels, which will likely take 4-6 months. So hopefully this fall, Willow will be an independent little wheelie girl 🙌

In our last update, we mentioned that we were entertaining the idea of moving to a new house. Thank you for praying for us in that regard! The Lord gave us a very clear “no, not now” to that plan. And truly, we’re thankful for that clear answer…because it has propelled us into some steps of action…
Our River Church family has rallied around us and has offered to help us remove our old flooring and install the new flooring. Hopefully, this will be happening sometime end of June or early to mid July. If any of you are interested in helping with this physical labor, please reach out to Chris or me. We would love to have all the help we can get! Bonus if you’ve installed LVP before ✨
We are still trying to figure out the best ramp option for our hallway. Honestly, this has been the thing that has kept us from moving forward. It’s like this puzzle that we can’t solve, so it’s just easier to pretend it’s not there 😮💨 but we have a tentative plan, and are anxious to get things moving so Willow Mei can get moving too!
Thank you for your support on our family’s journey. As I’m sitting here writing this, I’m truly feeling thankful. Thankful for the body of Christ. Thankful for the beauty that can come from brokenness. And thankful for our compassionate, affectionate, and tender Lord who never leaves us in the valley. 🐑
