Tummy time

We did tummy time today differently. We used to do tummy time regularly but with her hip dislocating and the other side having the dysplasia it’s hard with out therapist guiding us on how to position her so she’s comfortable and we don’t make the dysplasia worse. However today she really needed tummy time because her gas pain from the laxatives was so bad so we started googling positions for hip dysplasia kids and the safest position was a pillow on my lap with her legs just hanging freely. It felt akward to me to hold her in that position but you could tell Olivia loved it. Idk what it means but I saw her actively lifting her head just the tiniest bit to try to get comfortable and she’s never done that before in the tummy time position so even though we had a rough morning I’m taking today as a big win! We set something up to replicate that position for therapy in the future but tried to make it where her knees are on the floor not just dangling down I think it would help strengthen her legs and be more comfortable. Now that the gas has passed she’s getting some much needed rest she also slept last night from 9pm to 3am so that improved with the changes the doctors made we made some more changes today so hopefully she won’t be as gassy poor girl.
