Surgery Date & Support

Camila’s surgery is scheduled for February 12th. This will be an outpatient procedure and recovery is expected to take two weeks before she can return to her usual activities. Please keep Camila and our family in your thoughts as we prepare and support her these next few weeks.

While Camila is home recovering and we are adjusting to our new normal, a support that we would value are meals. Not having to worry about what to eat or forgetting to consume food while caring for Camila in her recovery would be incredibly impactful.

If you would like to support our family in this way, please feel free to sign up for a meal drop off day in the “Lend a Hand” calendar. If you would prefer to donate money towards meals or send a meal delivery service gift card (i.e., DoorDash, Uber Eats), you can locate those options by clicking on the “Send a Meal” button.

As soon as we can, we will provide an update on how surgery went, as we know you all are invested and care for our family. Please also feel free to reach out to us via text message to provide support in this way. We look forward to hearing from you!

Vanessa, you write so beautifully and document this all so well - maybe consider making this into a book someday. We could see some version of this (with or without specifics about your family) help other families advocate for their children and give them hope for the future. We will be out of town so can’t send food but will send gift cards via the site. We are happy Miss Camila will soon have an easier time getting the nutrition she needs to continue all the hard work she is doing!
