This isn’t an update we ever wanted to share, but it’s important to us to keep our support system informed about Camila’s well-being.
Over the past month, Camila’s health has been declining. With the support of her outpatient care team, we did our best to manage her care from home. However, on January 9th, we no longer felt confident in our ability to safely maintain her hydration, nutrition, and weight outside of the hospital setting.
Camila has now been admitted to a Pediatric Gastroenterology Acute Care Unit, where she can receive the 24/7 care she needs. At this time, she is stable and being treated for an infection and a possible co-occurring Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) flare. While we all wish we could be in the comfort of home, Camila is exactly where she needs to be.
At this point, we don’t know how long Camila will remain inpatient, as her treatment plan and testing are still ongoing. We are deeply grateful for any support you’re able to offer during this time.
Please keep Camila in your thoughts and prayers.
With love,
The Weilnhammer Family
