Chop appointment is done.
Baby A is thriving, like normal. Baby B is showing good improvement in her umbilical artery flow! Plenty of forward flow this time around, which is great.
Baby A is measuring 12 oz, which is perfect. Baby B, however, is now struggling in that department. She only weighs about 8 oz. The difference last appointment was 25%, today it is at 38%.
Baby B has to gain a significant amount of weight in the next two weeks, to catch up to her sister some. At our next appointment, they will measure her growth again. If she remains stable and gains, we can hold on a little longer. If she doesnt gain at all, or gains very little, she probably wont continue to grow any longer.
They are pushing for 28 weeks, but if Baby B hits a wall and isn't getting bigger, they could deliver as soon as 25 or 26 weeks. Dr told us today, she may be too small to survive, even if they take them early to give them the best chances. If she doesnt gain weight, she wont make it.
If she stops gaining all together in the next 2 weeks, we will have to make a decision before 23 weeks and 6 days, on what we want to do. Giving her the best chance and holding on when she isn't getting better, will just put both girls at risk.
Please continue to pray that Baby B gains and gains! And that we dont have to make the hardest decision on the life of our sweet girl 🩷💜🙏
