A Little Update On Trish

We are feeling really encouraged today. Trish continues to make progress, and we are so thankful for the little victories that are adding up each day.

Trish has been up walking up and down the hallway, sitting in her chair, and doing more and more on her own. She was also able to have the tube that was running through her nose, down her throat and into her stomach removed, which has made her feel SO much better. She is finally able to talk without discomfort, and that alone has been such a sweet thing to see and hear.

Dr. Oxner was just here with some really encouraging news: NO LEAKS! Praise God! The connection they made of her esophagus and stomach during surgery is holding beautifully, which is a huge answer to prayer.

The one thing they are watching right now is that her stomach isn't emptying as quickly as they would like. They aren't sure yet if this is temporary or if she may need an endoscopy procedure to help repair the issue. They are going to continue adjusting her tube-feed formula and adding fiber to see if they can get things moving properly. The contrast she drank for yesterday's test could also be contributing to the problem.

She was able to sleep some last night and says she is feeling better and very encouraged. She told us that Bo has been amazing, her nurses have been wonderful, and that our love carries her through the rough patches and fills her with joy.

Please keep praying that her stomach begins emptying properly, that the tube feeds continue to agree with her body, that she won't need any additional procedures, and that her strength continues to return. And please keep praying for complete healing and recovery.
