Hello to all of our friends and family.
After many test that are required for a liver transplant Shands has discovered that Tom has a congenital heart issue. He has an arterial septal defect, abnormal EKGs, and very low oxygen levels. This will require an extended stay in Gainesville the week of August 3.
He will be admitted to the hospital for a pre-transplant evaluation to see if his heart is strong enough for the transplant and possibly have it repaired before or after transplant.
