Tina Wickes Stage 4 Cancer Journey
For those finding this page, thank you for being here.
Over the past few weeks, my life has changed in ways I never imagined. After a series of tests, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Recent MRI results showed that the cancer has spread to several areas of my sternum and multiple ribs. PET scan results showed what we feared-metastasis to my skeletal system and liver. While there are still many questions to answer and more appointments ahead, this is the reality I’m now learning to live with.
It’s hard to put into words what this feels like. Some moments I’m overwhelmed with fear and grief. Other moments I’m determined to keep moving forward one appointment, one treatment, and one day at a time. Right now, I’m trying to make room for all of those emotions.
I decided to start this SupportNow page because I know many people care about me, and repeating updates over and over can be trying. This will be the place where I’ll share medical updates, victories, setbacks, and whatever else feels important along the way.
More than anything, I ask for your kindness, positive thoughts, messages, and support mean more than I can express. If I don’t always respond, please know it’s not because I don’t appreciate you. My energy and focus will be on my treatment and healing, but please know I love you all so much.
Thank you for walking beside me through this. I don’t know exactly what this road will look like, but I’m grateful I won’t be walking it alone.
