Tim had his monthly appointment with his medical oncologist which consists of drawing blood and checking all his levels. Good news! Everything consistently stays in the normal range after four rounds of chemo. He will start round five a week from tomorrow and will have his next MRI on October 7. We are daily praying that the Lord would 1. remove all cancer cells or 2. let there be no progression. Preferably number one.
Last week was an extremely stressful one. Two weeks ago Sam was having discomfort with a swollen lymph node in his armpit and beginning with a visit to urgent care, we spent the next week going to Baptist East outpatient and ER for an ultrasound, bloodwork, chest CT, more bloodwork and finally a needle biopsy. We have not gotten all the pathology report but our sweet radiologist friend (that happened to do the biopsy) intercepted preliminary results and let us know that they had ruled out cancer.
Our friend and recently retired pediatrician early in the process told me he thought it was Cat Scratch Fever. So I spent the week humming the Ted Nugget tune and praying that the cat or kitten that live at Fishers Farm really was the culprit. Based on the results we have gotten so far, it looks like Sam really does have Cat Scratch Fever!
While the prospect of another cancer diagnosis was petrifying we remained confident that God is in control. We were in the ER when my phone started blowing up about the assassination of Charlie Kirk and while the world seems to have gone crazy, we are confident that God is still on His throne. He is not shaken or stunned. I am shaken. I am stunned. But God is not. He is the Creator of the cosmos, He controls the winds and the waves. And He loves Sam. He knows the numbers of hairs on his head and He has engraved Sam's name in the palm of His hand.
And speaking of hair... Tim's hair has grown back dark!
