Tim Cantey
Thursday night Tim completed his fifth round of Temodar, also referred to as 5 and 23 since he takes the chemo drug for five days and off for 23 day. Each round is cumulative and the side effects, while manageable, seemed more apparent.
Today was Tim's two-month MRI. While we have been fervently praying for no progression and no cancer, this is not the news we received. Keep in mind that the area of concern (we refer to this as the hot spot) is small. It was small when he was first diagnosed on February 1. But today's image shows a small amount of growth. While this wasn't good news, it is just a small setback. Our radiology oncologist will report back to UAB and we will wait to see what our next steps are since there are a handful of options.
In the meantime Tim is still working full time, works out at least three days a week and gets on his lawnmower or tractor when he gets home. I hope this paints a picture for those who are not around Tim daily or weekly. He's still super social and would love to hear from you. Same ole Tim.
As I sat down to write this update a verse immediately came to mind. 2 Cor 4:8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to dispair... And the reason we are not crushed or in despair is because of the verse before it. 2 Cor 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are fragile, breakable, jars of clay. But in us we have a precious, unchanging, all powerful, loving treasure who is our Rock, our Lord and our Savior.
