Tim Cantey
All things considered we had a pretty uneventful night. As expected, Tim has slept most of yesterday and last night (besides the obligatory waking on the hour by our kind nurses). This morning he is much more alert, has tons of coloring and just finished a full breakfast. They have removed everything that was attached to monitors and has walked around the room twice. In the last hour they removed the dressing on his head and the drain.
The best news is the report from the neurosurgeon. The MRI shows nothing. As in, she got it all. Photo is before and after films. The pathology report can take up to two weeks so we are not expecting an immediate update.
The rehab people came in and determined that his right side has much more strength than he had after the LITT last year so unsure if he will have outpatient OT, but speech is more of the issue. This is expected since the speech area of the brain is what was poked, prodded and scraped during the surgery. It improved within weeks last year so they assured us it will be the same.
I haven't counted but there's a bunch of staples that will be removed in 10-14 days. And Tim will have quite an impressive scar. But are so so thankful for what the scar represents.
Dr. Riley was so impressed with Tim that she said if he can do five things (he's already done four of them) we can be discharged this afternoon. Eek. Not sure I'm ready. We'll see.
Thank y'all for all the texts and comments and especially to those who pray for us and ask those we've never met to pray. We serve a mighty God and Tim is walking evidence. Praise to our Great Physician!

Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;
Who pardons all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases;
Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
