Steriods

It's been over two weeks since Round Six ended and the chemo fog has seemed to get worse, not better.  Yesterday I knew something was wrong and this morning, while expecting Tim to wake refreshed, he woke with incoherent sentences and confusion at simple tasks.
The radiology oncologist ordered an MRI and it showed lots of swelling on the left side of his brain which is likely causing all of the symptoms. Tim started on steroids today with hopes of seeing a marked difference in the next 24 hrs. He will continue with on the steroids for the next two months until his next MRI.
The MRI also showed that the area of concern has increased in size but the doctor thinks that it is more of the radiation injury (for explanation read the Oct 21 entry). The steroids will not only help with the swelling on his brain, but hopefully reduce the radiation injury too.
So please pray for reduction of the swelling AND the radiation injury, recovery in Tim's speech and confusion and annihilation of any existing cancer cells.
Two weeks ago Tim and I attended a reunion at Camp Maranook for past staff, counselors and campers.  The camp is beautiful and has changed so much even in the 10+ years since Sam attended.  In the mid 80s Tim was a camp counselor and then spent the next year serving an internship before moving to Montgomery to work for an architectural firm. We found this picture dated 1984.  See if you can find Tim. The answer will be in the comments!

I am praying that the steroids solve Tim’s problem! Was it the radiation that made it swell? I so appreciate you both coming to Spencer and La’s wedding! I know it was an effort, and I’m grateful!!

Robbie, so very sorry to hear of Tim's current issues. Can only imagine how frustrating this is, especially for him. Will add the new specifics to my prayers.

We are praying that Tim’s swelling goes away and that the area of concern shrinks to nothing too. May God continue to give you all strength and peace as you go through this trial. Sending love your way from north Alabama.

We totally whiffed on finding Tim in the photo but in all fairness it is a really small photo on my phone!

I’m so very sorry to hear about Tim’s current condition. Tim shared with me his cancer conditions at a Pike Road soccer game early this year. I am praying almost daily that our God will heal his body completely. I will add prayer for the “fog” situation, that he will quickly be coherent again. My granddaughter, Mallory, played soccer with Nettie at Pike Road and I was always glad to see Tim at the games. Much prayer will continue for Tim and entire family.
