It is indeed Good Friday. Not because the radiology center is closed and no radiation for three days straight, but because Tim and I can't earn salvation by any good works... it's all because Jesus Christ died shamefully and spent three days in hell to pay a debt we could not pay. Even better news for us, he busted the gates of hell and rose from the dead. And because of that we will live forever with the King. This is where our hope comes from.
Tim's numbers (platelet, white blood cells, etc.) continue to be "excellent" and in general feels pretty good. After a day at work, chemo, radiation, an hour or two of projects at home he has slowed in this fifth week of treatment and has begun taking a nap before dinner. This is completely expected and is still waaaay above the curve of the average patient. Praise God!
So next week will be week six of six (plus one day, Mon April 28). The radiologist, Dr. Whitley, explained that the radius of the radiation will become more centralized on the active areas. Not sure if this will "feel" different to Tim, but please keep praying that his side effects and fatigue will not increase and he'd start enjoying food again.
Tim had a different kind of appointment this week (see pic that he didn't know I took). Two days before our wedding in May 2001 I made Tim get a manicure (close up wedding pics) while I got a mani/pedi. Tim was intrigued and asked for a pedicure too. As you can imagine, the nail salon's focus was all about the groom while the bride sat back letting her nails dry. Tim was sold. About once a year he gets a pedicure. Men don't knock it til you try it!
Nettie is coming home this weekend and Sam lives in Montgomery so we will all be together to celebrate the Resurrection! Let me know if you'd like to join us (service is 10:30).
I keep saying this but thanks so much to everyone for their prayers, calls, texts, cards, etc. Please keep praying and happy Easter.
Titus 3:5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit
