Tim Cantey
While at the beach conference Tim had a few instances of double vision so Friday he had an appointment with his ophthalmologist. Most of the symptoms had dissipated by this point and after examination there was no obvious reason for the occasional double vision except maybe a side effect of some additional medication that Tim had started taking.
Monday we met our new medical oncologist, Dr. Reardon. He is much closer to our age (last doc looked like he just stepped out of his chapter meeting at the frat house... and very nice guy), seasoned, laid back. Tim's next round of treatment will, again, increase the dosage and so they delayed the five days of Temodar til Monday, July 7, so we won't get caught in the holiday weekend if any strong side effects. His next MRI is at the end of July.
We have an official countdown of days until Tim can legally drive on the streets of Alabama. Because of his February 1 seizure he could not drive for six months. August 1 is that magical day when Tim has freedom and my driving lessons conclude.
Sam is in a 31 day blackout period where we cannot communicate with him but our inside sources tell us that he is doing great, fitting in well at the group home, learning trades within the construction industry and seems truly happy. His biggest struggle is hand writing a Proverbs chapter a day. If he could type it, his thumbs would have it done in a few minutes. It's a great practice if you want to join in, or at least read along. Today is Proverbs 18.
Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.
