I just wrapped up my second round of chemotherapy - this phase is called “consolidation chemo.” I’ll spare you the blow-by-blow of the treatment schedule, but the good news is that this round only required a seven day hospital stay, which is a HUGE improvement! This last round definitely kicked my butt for a day or two, but after some much needed rest, I’m bouncing back.

Even better news: my latest scan results show that the chemo is doing its job and killing off cancer cells. Huge relief! The plan going forward is to complete two to three more rounds of this new chemo cocktail. Between two of those rounds, I’ll have more scans to monitor how things are progressing.

One of the biggest perks of being through that first round is that I will no longer have to stay in the hospital for a full month while receiving future treatments. I’m so lucky to have such an amazing care team at Mayo, but being able to be home in-between cycles is something I am so grateful for!

Next up: Wigs! I’m officially on the hunt for a flashy, fabulous, and maybe even sexy wig to rock on my bald head. I might start taking bets on what color I’ll go with first—suggestions welcome!

Thank you to everyone who’s called, texted, or dropped off meals for the girls and me. Your love and support have truly made life easier and a lot less stressful. I am endlessly grateful. Please keep those prayers and good vibes coming. I feel every single one of them!!

This is such great news! I’m so glad you’re able to be home in between treatments. I can see you rocking a cool pink or lilac color ☺️
