Two Week Update - Two sweet weeks with our Johnny.
Johnny celebrated his first holiday - 4th of July! The nurses at the NICU made a little firecracker craft with his footprint; It looks so big for his little self.
In the last week Johnny has officially hit 3 lbs, came off his IV, and has not needed light therapy for jaundice! Mom and Dad have gotten to help with his care - changing diapers, taking his temperature, brushing his teeth and giving baths. Skin to skin time has increased and it is the sweetest thing to hold our little one. He has also started RAM trials to slowly transition off of CPAP to nasal cannula for breathing. He has done pretty good with the transition however, yesterday they tried a 12 hour day and he could only handle 9 hours before his body got too tired. They are giving him a couple days back on CPAP fully before he restarts the trials at 3 hours a day until he works up to 12 hours. Today he started OT (occupational therapy) to ensure he is adjusting well, learning appropriate skills, handling touch, and having positive sensory experiences. Overall he continues to do such a great job and we couldn’t be anymore grateful for the progress he makes.

As he moves into week 3 his goals are to continue to grow and come of CPAP. CPAP is the biggest prayer we need. Prayers for his lungs and for his little body to get stronger each day.

Cuddle Up a Little Closer

Cuddle up a little closer, oh lovey mine
Cuddle up and be my little clinging vine
Like to feel your cheeks so rosy
Like to make you comfy cozy
Cuz I love from head to toesy
Lovey mine
Cuddle up a little closer, lovey mine
Cuddle up and be my little clinging vine
Like to feel your cheeks so rosy
Like to make you comfy cozy
Cuz I love from head to toesy
Lovey mine
