Today should have been another chemo day, but instead I’m home with a sore throat and cough—feeling pretty miserable, even my bones hurt. When a cancer patient gets sick, it can become dangerous very quickly. While chemo works hard to destroy cancer cells, it also wipes out the white blood cells that protect me from infection. My immune system is already running on fumes.
After calling my doctor’s office, they decided to delay treatment until next week. It’s disappointing and a little discouraging, because a delay feels like a step backward in this long process. I can’t help but think about how this affects the overall timeline and what that might mean moving forward. But deep down, I know this pause is what my body needs right now. Healing from one thing before taking on the next is still progress—just not the kind we always expect.
I’m reminding myself that God’s timing is perfect, even when it interrupts my plans. He’s in control of every breath, every cell, every setback, and every step forward.
Prayer requests-
Pray that I can fight off this virus quickly, regain strength, and that the rest of my family stays healthy.
Pray for my boys. Some days are better than others, Teddy continues to display more anxiety than he used to. We are investigating getting him some additional support for this. Pray for wisdom as we figure this out.
Pray for Alex and me. We have an opportunity to get away this upcoming weekend for a delayed anniversary celebration. Pray for connection, rest and that we can love each other well.
Thank you all for your continued love, support, and prayers. I feel them deeply—especially on weeks like this. 💜
