The Wendy Hood Family
Dear Friends, as we stand together in prayer for our friend and sister in Christ, Wendy, will you continue to share in hope and shower your love during this season of her life.
The year ended with a sudden and challenging battle as Wendy underwent emergency brain surgery again, due to alarming symptoms. The tumor was causing visual distortion and it was extremely urgent to remove the tumor. This type of tumor, glioblastoma, can be tricky and aggressive.
We are standing with Wendy and her precious family, and praying and BELIEVING BIG for God to do something absolutely miraculous, that only He can do. He and Wendy are showing off. After the surgery, they anticipated a lengthy stay in ICU, but Wendy blew the ICU team away, with a brief stay of less then a day and she was home in 3 days. Today, less then 3 weeks later, Wendy is continuing with a group of 50+ people who are reading through the Bible together online, and just a couple of days ago, Wendy took one of the readings, when just days before, she had a hard time seeing others standing right in front of her. That's Wendy! She perseveres with great faith and intentional, purposeful living.
She has gathered an incredible care team and will begin radiation and a chemo pill in about 10 days. This is a major shift as she tackles this head on, with all of the tools available. She needs our prayers, love and support so much. I was with Wendy this past week, and while on a call with her care team and some prayer sisters, we experienced a holy moment where a bright light showed up, and took all of us back. This experience was a supernatural one. There are no windows in the room we were in. You can see the picture below was taken by one of the ladies on the call with us. Wendy is walking in the presence of the Lord, and we, her brothers and sisters, are His hands and feet to help lift the load as she presses on!
This is Round 2, and believing with you that THIS will be the cancer knockout round. We need your help! Please take a day to pray (you can see days listed on this page), and please consider giving whatever you can. The treatments are at Emory in Atlanta, everyday, 5 days a week, for 5 weeks. She will be living 2 hours from her home with her family by her side. The medical bills and expenses are piling up. We have increased our goal to $30,000 to help her cover her primary living expenses (Wendy is working very little, and Dennis is self-employed.)
Their ministry has been put on hold while she heals. Your financial support will help them cover some of the medical bills, along with the added treatment costs. Will you please help us, and share with others?
For those whose lives have been touched by Wendy's unconditional love and selflessness, this is a call to action. Let us come together to show our unwavering support for a woman who has given so much to others.
Will you join us today in standing by Wendy's side as she fights with bravery and faith?
Your generosity and love will make a meaningful difference in Wendy's journey. Together, we can bring MORE light into this journey of healing, and hope into her struggle.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Suzy
P.S. The picture was taken by one of the ladies on the care team call. Wendy was praying and the light was so bright, and if you look closely, it seemed to be coming from the cross.
