πŸŽ‰ Yay for Dad’s Birthday! πŸŽ‚πŸ’™

Pop’s sense of humor is still VERY much intact. πŸ˜‚ He is already making plans to take this bad boy out (an electric wheelchair) and zip around Costco, because apparently recovering from brain surgery isn’t going to keep this man from his Costco runs!

Dad absolutely can walk independently without a walker, but this sweet new ride is for those longer stretches when he decides he wants to go rogue getting those steps in. When the legs need a break, he can just trade the steps for wheels and keep on rolling. πŸ˜‚πŸ›ž

This was such an incredible blessing from one of Dad’s best friends, Tom Kelly, and his amazing wife, Jency. Many people know Tom and Jency from when we were neighbors for so many years living in The Camp. Even after Mom and Dad moved to Gore, their friendship never skipped a beat. Tom, Dad, and Uncle Eddie Martin still talk every single night. His buds mean the absolute world to him, and seeing the people who have loved Dad for decades continue to surround him through this season is something our family will never forget.

Dad is already itching to get mobile and get back to doing the things he loves. His doctor, however, has made it VERY clear that he needs to rest for the next two weeks until they remove all 47 staples from his head. 😳 But if you know Dad, you know keeping him down for long is probably going to require an act of Congress. πŸ˜‚ He is already trying to do a little more every day.

In the quieter moments, I have been able to sit with Dad and tell him about this page, the prayers, the meals, the messages, the generosity, and every single person who has stepped forward to love our family. There are moments when he is truly speechless hearing about all of the blessings God has bestowed upon our family through each of you.

Dad is officially 65! πŸ₯³πŸŽˆ

And we are believing with our whole hearts that the best is yet to come.

Today, if you do nothing else, would you simply say a prayer for Dad? Pray for healing. Pray for strength. Pray for peace. Pray for many, many more birthdays, Costco adventures, laughs with his buddies, time with Mom, and memories with all of us who love him beyond words.

That prayer means more to our family than you will ever know.

β€œFor I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 30:17 πŸ™πŸΌπŸ’™

Happy 65th Birthday, Dad! Now somebody hide the keys to that thing before he takes off down their bumpy dirt road. πŸ˜‚πŸ›žπŸ’¨

We love you beyond measure. The best is yet to come. πŸ’™πŸŽ‚πŸ™πŸΌ
