A Little Love for Mom ❤️🙏🏼

My mom has been an absolute champ through all of this. Through every heartbreaking moment, every unknown, and every emotion that comes with watching the love of her life walk through this, she has continued to say that no matter what, she will not lose her faith. She will not be angry with God or question Him. Instead, she has chosen to praise Him in the storm.

When Dad came into Mom’s life, he made her a promise that no matter what their finances looked like or what life brought their way, he would always make sure she and us kids got to go on vacation and make memories together. For 34 years and counting, he has honored that promise. Some years were bigger trips than others, but Dad always found a way to give our family that time together in the OBX!

For one of those family vacations to the Outer Banks to unexpectedly become the place where Dad needed an emergency room was something none of us ever could have imagined. We are so incredibly thankful for the medical team who was there to care for him and helped get him where he needed to be.

This sweet picture of Mom and Dad was taken just a few days before we discovered his medical issue. We had absolutely no idea how quickly life was about to change. Looking at it now makes those 34 years of vacations, memories, and promises kept feel even more precious.

Mom is understandably heartbroken watching her soulmate go through this, but nevertheless, she continues to be the pillar of strength that my sisters and I have looked up to our entire lives. Her faith, her love for Dad, and her determination to stand beside him through every step of this journey are something I will forever admire.

For anyone who needs to reach Mom regarding support for Dad, you can contact her directly at 540-664-2601. Text message is best whenever possible, but please include your name so she knows who is reaching out. We try to keep the house as calm and quiet as we can while Dad’s brain continues to heal, so Mom often keeps her ringer turned down to minimize unnecessary noise and stimulation.

If you are wanting to send a gift card directly to Mom for meals, her email address is [email protected].

Thank you all so much for loving and supporting my mom during a time when she is carrying more than words can describe. Please continue to cover her in prayer, too. She has spent her life being a source of strength for all of us, and right now, it means everything to know that so many people are surrounding her with that same love and strength. ❤️

“Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.”
