As the meal train officially kicks off tomorrow, Monday, August 17th, I wanted to take a moment to give a very special shout-out to those who have already gone behind the scenes, reached out to Mom, and coordinated meals since Mom and Dad came home from the hospital.
And speaking of coming home, they made it home thankfully much earlier than we ever anticipated, which was nothing short of a miracle and blessing from God. Because of that, I had originally scheduled their official meal train to begin tomorrow and that day is upon us!
To every single person who has already helped and to everyone signed up to bring a meal in the days and weeks ahead, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It means more than you will ever know.
Sometimes, when there is so much happening at once, it is surprisingly easy to forget about the most basic things. A warm meal, a smiling face at the door, and even a short visit when time and circumstances allow may seem simple, but right now those simple acts of kindness are enormous blessings.
βFor I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.β β Matthew 25:35
You will notice that the requested meal delivery window on the registry is 4:30β5:30 PM to 385 Logger Drive in Gore (picture of their house at the top of this post). If your schedule changes or you need to coordinate a different time, please simply text Mom directly at 540-664-2601. She can help coordinate whatever works best.
These meals mean so much to both Mom and Dad. Every meal delivered is one less thing Mom has to juggle. It means less time worrying about grocery shopping, cooking, dishes, and cleaning up afterward, and more precious time she can spend beside Dad as they focus together on the next steps in his treatment plan.
I also know that many of you live far away, and getting all the way out to Gore simply isn't feasible. To those of you who have supported our family from afar through financial donations, thank you so very much. Those donations are going 100% toward meals and Dad's care. We feel your love from afar, and it feels amazing to know there are people in so many different places and across multiple states loving on Dad, praying for him, and helping take care of our family. Distance has certainly not kept us from feeling your love.
βAnd do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.β β Hebrews 13:16
We have been so incredibly blessed by the hands and feet of Jesus showing up for our family in so many different ways. Whether you have brought a meal, sent a gift card, made a financial donation, prayed, checked in, offered your time, or simply continued following along and lifting Dad's name before the Lord, please know that we see you, we appreciate you, and we thank God for you.
βThey broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God.β β Acts 2:46β47
May God richly bless every person who has poured into our family during this season. We pray that the kindness you have so freely given comes back to you and your families in ways greater than you could ever imagine.
From our entire Violette Crew, thank you for loving Mom and Dad so incredibly well.
We love you, we appreciate you, and we are endlessly grateful for every single one of you.
