We have always believed in being the hands and feet of God to those around us. Being on the receiving end of that love during this season has meant more to our family than words could ever express. Every prayer, meal, message, act of kindness, and helping hand has reminded us that God so often shows His love through His people. We are beyond grateful for each and every one of you.
We serve a mighty God, and we know that no matter what comes ahead for our family, or for yours, God is more than able. He is the ultimate healer, our source of strength, and the One we will continue to put our hope and trust in.
I wanted to write this note not only as a thank you to everyone following Dad’s journey, but also as a little encouragement for whatever you may be facing in your own life. Whatever your need may be, no matter how big or how small, never underestimate what God can do.
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20
Our family knows that the journey ahead is long, but knowing that each of you stops and simply prays for Dad and our family when you read these updates means more than you could possibly know. Those prayers are carrying us through some of the hardest days we have ever faced.
We will continue to stand firmly on what God’s Word has promised, even on the days when our hearts are heavy and we cannot see what lies ahead.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7
And when our own strength feels insufficient, we will remember:
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” Isaiah 40:31
Thank you for standing in the gap for our family. Thank you for loving Dad. Thank you for praying when we have the words to pray and especially when we do not. We pray that somehow, through Dad’s journey, someone else is reminded to hold onto their faith and remember that our God is still working, He is still faithful, and He is still more than able. -Jenna (one of Tom's daughters)
