Balto Update

An update on Balto. 

I am eternally grateful for the incredible love, support, prayers, donations, and shares that our community has shown Balto and our family. I truly don’t have the words to express what it has meant to us.

Today, we received a call from Balto’s veterinarian with an update after speaking with an oncology surgeon and reviewing the results from his scan.

And for the first time since we received this devastating diagnosis, we have some really promising news.

The surgeon told us that the results from Balto’s scan were very promising. He would like to perform more advanced imaging before surgery, but he also told us that he operates on tumors like Balto’s often and that there is a high success rate with these surgeries.

We finally have a little bit of hope. ❤️

We have our first appointment with the oncology surgeon scheduled for September 2nd. Unfortunately, that was the soonest appointment available, but we have asked to be placed on the cancellation list and will take any earlier appointment that becomes available.

And today, Balto has been FULL of energy and playful spirit. Seeing him acting like his goofy, happy self has been everything to me. It reminds me why we are fighting so hard for him.

We still have a road ahead of us, and we know there are more scans, decisions, and surgery ahead. But today, we got a little bit of hope—and I am holding onto that tightly.
