Today Jesse spent most of the morning holding our sweet Wilder, making up for all the time he doesn’t get to see him during the week. Wilder was a little fussier today as he adjusts to having an empty belly. The nurses said he will do much better with it after 72 hours.

When the nurse transferred Wilder back to bed she discovered his main line was leaking. This is a problem because it is his line that delivers his IV nutrition and some important medicine for his heart. Also depending where it is leaking, it could’ve led to fluid leaking into his chest. Due to Wilder being on anticoagulant they cannot fully remove the line and attempt to place a new one until he’s been off of of the anticoagulant for a certain number of hours.

Thankfully they were able to resolve the issue temporarily and keep his nutrition running. They did a scan and an xray to check on the line and for potential fluid and everything is okay.  They will discuss the best plan in the morning, but likely will run a PICC line in the morning to replace this other main line.

Other than that, Wilder had a good day and he was calm and peaceful when we left him tonight.

Prayer requests:
-That the placing of the new line goes smoothly and the Lord protects Wilder from any clots forming while he is off of his anticoagulant
-a smooth and peaceful week as he recovers
-continued strength for Jesse and I. It’s the first week of produce deliveries and it will make for an extra busy week for Jesse
