Wilder had his first heart surgery on May 14th at 6 days old. He developed a rare complication after that surgery and went in for an emergency surgery to remove a blood clot on May 17th and has been working hard to recover from all of that. Despite needing two surgeries close together, he has made really good progress in the last week. He had his breathing tube removed on Friday and he has been making gains each day. Since then he has been able to start weaning off of sedation, IV medications, and started taking feeds through his NG tube. He did so well with his feeds that they were able to increase the volume faster than anticipated and soon he'll be able to start learning to take a bottle. We are thankful for the progress he makes each day. The doctors told us that he will likely need to stay in the hospital a few more weeks.

Prayer requests:
-That Wilder is able to start bottle feeds and learns to take a bottle well
-That Wilder is able to be fully weaned off all the extra supports that they have him on
-That Wilder continues to make progress each day and is able to come home sooner than anticipated.
