Hello everyone! This is Kathryn also known as Aunt Kat. Just wanted to share some thoughts about Asa.

Tonight we were still in the celebratory spirit of Christmas. We were hanging out as a family and playing games. The kids were in the den watching veggie tales after enjoying some time outside on their new trampoline that was given to the family for Christmas by the Kuhn family. We have already experienced the blessing of this gift more than you know. Thank you! ❤️

He came in the dinning room where the adults were playing a game and he was starting to have pain in his legs. He started to cry and Austin and Julianna sprung into action to try to help their sweet baby boy.

The pain was engulfing his thoughts so much so that he couldn’t focus on anything else. I immediately was burdened for him and started praying to the Lord. Juliana was comforting him and then took him to his room. She began singing a few songs that came to mind… “good, good Father” and “You are my all in all”. Specifically saying the line, “You are my strength when I am weak. You are the treasure that I seek. You are my all in all”. That had me thinking is He our all in all and do we praise Him in the pain, suffering, and confusion?

We should if we don’t. I have challenged myself and all of you to praise him when we are weeping and experiencing pain and let it transform our minds.

I watched my precious nephew still be sweet and kind in his pain and suffering. It deeply touched my soul because I know at the age of 4 he doesn’t completely understand everything BUT God!

As Juliana finished singing and embracing him, she laid him down to get some rest because his crying had subsided. Tears were streaming down my face as I was quietly praying for him. I got up and kissed him on the cheek and mustered out, “I love you”. He then quickly responded in the sweetest pure voice, “love you”.

I broke down because even in the midst of his pain that he doesn’t fully understand he still loves, gives, and shares. That is Christ! That is our Savior and Lord living out in that sweet boy. His heart is letting the Lord move through this unimaginable situation. Praise God for that!

I hope that no matter what is going on with you or your family that you continue to love, give, and share like sweet Asa. Like Christ charges us to do in scripture.

James 1:2-4
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything".

Philippians 4:6-7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God... will guard your hearts and your minds".

1 Peter 5:10
“And the God of all grace... after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast".

Isaiah 4:10
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand".

Merry Christmas! 🎄🤍

Such a precious boy! Thank you for sharing this intimate glimpse with all of us. It definitely helps me know how to pray more specifically. And…also breaks my heart. It is so hard to see children suffer.
