Abigail had an appointment this past Thursday at UVA with both immunology and her feeding therapist. 

 

We’re thankful to share that she no longer needs to see immunology! Her recent bloodwork has looked good, and she hasn’t been getting sick often, which is a huge blessing. 

 

Her feeding therapist was also encouraged. Abigail has been showing more interest in trying different foods, even if it’s just in small amounts. We’re going to keep letting her explore new tastes and textures to keep her interested, but we were advised not to push too hard. The therapist feels that Abigail likely won’t eat fully by mouth until after another jaw distraction surgery and airway reconstruction down the road. 

 

Right now, we’re still waiting for her tonsils and adenoids to be removed — she’s on the cancellation list, so the surgery could happen any day now.
