The Stallard Family
This past weekend, Devin and I took the kids to the movie theater for the first time, and they did great.
On Monday, Abigail had a virtual appointment with Dr. Gallant, an ENT in Boston who specializes in Botox injections to treat excessive drooling in children. I really liked her, and before our visit, she spoke with Dr. Rahbar to fully understand Abigail’s medical history. We previously tried a medication to help with drooling, but it wasn’t very effective and caused Abigail’s mucus to become too thick, which is not safe with her trach. Dr. Gallant would like us to try a different medication for now and plans to do Botox injections in her salivary glands while Abigail is already in the OR for her reconstruction surgery. She’s also going to see if she can get us in sometime in February.
Abigail went back to school and did well—she loves school and playing with her classmates. After picking her up, I went to a ladies’ Bible study, which I enjoyed.
Boston also called to go over details for Abigail’s upcoming surgery, and it’s starting to feel very real. Please continue to pray for Devin and me as we prepare for Boston. This Sunday, Devin and I will be sharing our journey with Abigail at a church that invited us to speak. Please pray that we can be an encouragement.
Thank you so much for all the prayers and support.
