We finally got some news from Boston! I was able to speak with the OR scheduler today, and she told me that Abigail’s airway reconstruction surgery will be scheduled for April. She doesn’t have the exact date yet since Dr. Rahbar’s schedule for next year isn’t fully available, but she’ll call me as soon as she knows the exact date. Right now, she estimates we’ll be in Boston for at least a month. Of course, the exact length of our stay will depend on how the surgery goes and how Abigail is doing afterward. 

 

In the meantime, Abigail’s tonsil and adenoid surgery is coming up this Monday. She’ll either be the first or second case of the morning at the University of Virginia, which means a very early start for us. The plan is for her to stay overnight after surgery so her ENT can carefully monitor her for bleeding and make sure she’s doing well before we head home. 

 

We would love your prayers that the surgery goes smoothly, that Abigail doesn’t have much bleeding, and that she’s able to come home on Tuesday.
